The Internet Censorship plan in the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) has been developed by American lobbyists in total secrecy. Now, we know why; in a bombshell development, WikiLeaks released the full text of the TPP’s Internet Censorship plan. It’s worse than we thought it was. Yesterday, Wikileaks made public secret documents1 that show the TPP’s Internet Censorship plan is even worse than we thought. The leaked documents show that the TPP will:
- Replace carefully crafted Canadian laws with extreme Internet censorship rules drafted in secret by U.S. lobbyists.
- Give giant U.S. conglomerates the power to kick entire families off the Internet if their kids are accused of downloading the wrong content2.
- Force your ISP to act as the “Internet Police”, monitoring your Internet use and even shutting down entire websites3. This will certainly make your Internet bill more expensive.
This leak could make all the difference — but only if people know about it. We need to raise a loud public call at this unique moment:

We know that Canadians won’t let this happen, but we need to make sure they are aware of what’s at stake. Those behind the TPP are now about to push forward with secret meetings in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Let’s make sure they feel the heat. Please, can you do your part and tell at least 3 people about the damage the TPP will do to our online freedoms? Every voice counts:

The public pressure you helped create is getting results — this Internet censorship plan has only been revealed because of people like you taking action. But we’ve got to keep the pressure on to win. We’ll keep at it if you stay will us.
For our future,
Steve, Reilly, and Jason, and your OpenMedia.ca team
