We just found out we have a rare and unique opportunity to take your voice straight to decision-makers who have the power to stop Big Telecom’s Internet slow lane plan.
Our Founder and Executive Director, Steve Anderson, will be holding a one-on-one meeting with FCC Commissioner Mignon Clyburn at an international conference taking place in Ottawa next week. And want to know what you would like us to say to her.
Commissioner Clyburn has the power to stop the Internet slow lane plan. Without her on side, FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler doesn’t stand a chance of getting a majority in favor of authentic net neutrality (AKA: Title II reclassification). Further, as a Democrat, she needs to recognize that her President, Democratic leaders in the U.S. Senate, and over 5.1 million Internet users from across the political spectrum and around the world are counting on her to do the right thing.
Now, with this in mind, here’s what we need to hear from you:
If you could say anything to decision-makers who can stop the Internet slow lane, what would it be?
Please tell us what you think via:
As you may have heard, we already met with senior White House advisors, urging them to speak out against Big Telecom’s Internet slow lane plan. Then – not two weeks later – President Obama heard our call, and announced he was “unequivocally committed to net neutrality”. Now we face a new chapter in the story to secure the open Internet and a level playing field for innovation online.
Together, we can stop this outrageous power-grab by the giant telecom conglomerates. If you lend us your voice, we’ll make sure to let Commissioner Clyburn know that the FCC should work for citizens, not just for Big Telecom interests. So please speak out in the comments section, on Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, or through email email@example.com.
