I have decided to scan and upload the copies of the ten day period for both the Honolulu Star Bulletin and the Honolulu Advertiser that I used when I was working on my research for “Extra, Extra, Announcing obama’s Birth”: . http://myveryownpointofview.wordpress.com/2010/05/28/extra-extra-announcing-obamas-birth
Not nice clean new copies, but the actual ones that have the highlighter and notes scribbled all over. As I mentioned in “Extra,Extra”, these are second generation copies of the copies that came from the Library of Congress.
And I do still have a few things that I am working on. One, as I have previously mentioned, is that I am attempting to get clarification from the newly formed “Star Advertiser” as to when and why the general public were no longer allowed access to the microfilm archives maintained by the newspapers. I have also asked if one could view a microfilm in the archives by appointment or for a fee. Here is a link to a little recent article on the topic:

So far they have neglected to respond to my inquiry. I will keep trying as I see no reason that this simple information would be considered sensitive. It is ridiculous to avoid answering such a simple question.
