The first pictures of a Russian jet that crashed into a mountain south of Jakarta have emerged.
Debris from the plane could be seen on Mount Salak in West Java, Indonesia, Thursday.
Officials say there were up to 50 people on board.

“The airplane crashed at the edge of Salak Mountain. I have spoken directly to our officer in the field; it was found around 1.5km from the predicted site. An investigation must be done immediately and thoroughly. Search and rescue operations must prioritize finding people on board.”
The Sukhoi Superjet 100 was on a demonstration flight and was carrying Indonesian businessmen, Russian embassy officials and journalists.
The aircraft is being marketed internationally in partnership with a subsidiary of Italian aerospace group, Finmeccanica.
