SPOKANE, Wash. –Police have arrested the man suspected of raping and murdering an elderly Clarkston woman.

Bisir Bilal Muhammad, 53, was arrested at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday on charges of first degree rape and first degree murder for the killing of Lewiston resident Ina Richardson.

Richardson, 69, was found near a park near Clarkston High School early last Friday morning. She was on her way home from Albertson’s Thursday night when she was killed.

Clarkston police, with the help of an Asotin County Sheriff’s deputy, arrested Muhammad at his home in the 1200 block of Sycamore Street in Clarkston, a dozen blocks away from where Richardson’s body was found.

Muhammed is being held in the Asotin County Jail waiting for his first appearance in court.
