Anonymous Takes Down Greek Police And Prime Ministers Websites As Athens Burns

From Forbes:

Anonymous is getting active in the growing unrest in Greece: the websites for the prime minister and the police are both currently unavailable, as the shadowy hacker organization weighs in against the government as the debt crisis grows worse and worse.

“TANGO DOWN” reads twin twitter posts for each website, military-speak for a downed hostile.

Athens is erupting in fire and violence as protesters battle the police over extreme austerity measures proposed in the face of a looming default. Parliament is debating cuts totaling $3.3 billion in jobs, pensions and wages. Opponents argue that the measure will worsen an already desperate financial situation for Greeks, supporters argue that the cuts are necessary in the face of complete crisis.

“Enough is enough!”famous Greek Leftist Manolis Glezos said, according toReuters. “They have no idea what an uprising by the Greek people means. And the Greek people, regardless of ideology, have risen.”

“These measures of annihilation will not pass.”
